Internet Marketing Methods With The Best ROI

Friday, February 6th, 2009

There are many different Internet marketing methods but which ones have the best ROI or return on investment? Some of the most used Internet marketing methods are pay-per-click search, email list, search engine optimization, affiliate marketing, banner ads, contextual text ads and many more. What proves to be the best ROI will depend on your niche but these are the results that we have found. They will most likely be the best methods for your niche but you must always test to see what works.

The number one method for return on investment is search engine optimization. There are many reasons for this being the most effective. While it may take some time to achieve substantial search engine rankings it’s always worth the wait. It’s very inexpensive and the only thing that’s really invested into SEO is time. Once you achieve great results the return is truly amazing. You have to remember you are receiving free traffic! So not only do you not have to control a budget but you get the benefit of thousands to millions of free targeted visitors. The organic search results are also clicked on more than the sponsored search results. It really doesn’t get much better than search engine optimization.

The next best method is marketing to your email list. These are customers who are obviously interested in what you have to offer and some of the most likely people to buy.  Not to mention it’s one of the most cost effective Internet marketing methods. Most likely a majority of your list has already made a purchase from you once. This mean it’s very likely that they will make a purchase from you again. This is one of the most effective ways to market to your existing customers.

Pay-per-click can also have a good ROI if it’s managed correctly. This is something that requires a lot more work and something that needs to be closely monitored. We consider pay-per-click marketing to be the third most effective method of Internet marketing. It’s pretty simple if you could pay $10.00 to make $50.00 wouldn’t you want in? I am pretty sure almost everyone would say yes to that question. This is the exact way that pay-per-click marketing works if it’s done correctly.

Affiliate marketing is sometimes more effective than pay-per-click marketing but it normally depends on the niche. In your normal affiliate program the publisher doesn’t get paid until they make a sale. If you can get enough publishers to make this effective you have a no lose form of marketing. There is not money being spent until the money is made.

Some of the other methods that we use are banner ads and contextual ads. These are some of the least effective forms of marketing. Banner ads are a good way to brand your company but not necessarily something you want to use if you intend on a quick return. Contextual ads are found on publisher websites and you often times have to pay based on the visitors that site receives and it’s very difficult to find publishers that you can make a profit from.

These are some of the best and most used methods of Internet marketing. If you aren’t using them I would suggest that you start testing right away. It may take some time and money to find the right methods for your niche, but once you do it will pay off more than you could have ever imagined.

Money Back Guarantee Is A Must

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

A money back guarantee is a must in your Internet marketing strategy. If you want to watch your conversion rates explode add a money back guarantee to all sales on your website. The confidence you can give your visitors the more likely they are to convert. A money back guarantee gives them a sense of security. Even if this purchase is not what they’re looking for they can return it and get 100% of their money back. This gives visitors nothing to lose except for their time. Not only does it give them nothing to lose but let’s them know that you are confident in what you have to offer. Your customers know that if they make a purchase you will do everything you can do in order to make their shopping experience good. They know you will go that extra step and not just sell them something and be done with it. So not only will a money back guarantee increase your conversion rates but it will improve how your company does business. It becomes a win win situation and is without a doubt a must.

Internet Model For Success

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

When you’re an Internet entrepreneur just starting out and haven’t made 6 or 7 figures yet there’s one route you need to achieve success as quick as possible. This route is taking something that someone else has already done and doing it better. Anyone just starting out and who hasn’t made a great amount of money yet is going to want a route with the least amount of risk and the greatest return. Motivational speaker Anthony Robbins once said, “If you want to be successful, find someone who achieved the results you want and copy what they do, and you’ll achieve the same results.”

If you want to start selling shoes on the Internet take a look at who’s already selling shoes or a website close to that niche market. You not only want to look at who else is selling shoes but who the top players in the market are. If they’re a top player in the market and one of the top in search engines for the keyword shoes they are definitely doing something right. Study how they run their business and how a few of the other top websites run theirs. See if you notice any consistency in what they’re doing. Once you figure that out take what they’re doing and change it just enough so you’re not copying them. They are the top in their market and have already figured out what works and what doesn’t in order to get there. There’s no need to try and reinvent the wheel when you want to achieve substantial success, just take the wheel and make it better. Once you’ve made 6 or 7 figures then you can take a little risk and test things to see if they’re more effective. This route in Internet marketing and as an Internet entrepreneur will set you up for success right out of the gate. There’s no need to take risk to be a successful entrepreneur when someone else has already taken that risk for you.

Personalizing Customer Service Is Key

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

The relationship you build with your customers and how you do it is one thing that will send you on your way to being the leader in your niche. How do they contact you? How do you contact them? Are you always ready to answer their questions right away? These are all very important questions and you need to make sure you have a good grasp on them.

The first thing you can do to improve your website is examine your sales letter or sales letters. What questions are you being asked and which ones are the most consistent? This is something you need to look over and then adds those questions and responses to your website. Even with a near perfect sales letter you will receive emails from customers asking questions.

If you do not respond to emails in a timely manner you may lose that customer. They are ready to buy they just need you to guide them in the right direction. The faster you answer your emails the better. Chances are they asked a few of your competitors a similar or the same question and whoever gets back to them the quickest with the best answer will be the one they buy from.

Live chat is also a good feature to have this allows your customers to get an answer right away and allows you to talk to multiple customers at once. This will make your customer service much more efficient without sacrificing quality and efficiency.

3 Things That Can Set A Site Up For Failure

Friday, January 16th, 2009

1. Trying to target multiple niches

The larger the market that you target the harder is becomes to be the best and satisfy every customer. While it can definitely be done it’s much more difficult to do than targeting towards a specific niche and your marketing becomes much more complicated. With all kinds of different products and services it’s no small undertaking. This is something that will cost a lot of money to startup and creates a much bigger risk.

2. Venture capital with a return that takes too long

While there are many business plans that can become successful with the right amount of venture capital investment, there are some that will take longer than others to become profitable. If you are relying on venture capitalists for an initial investment you need to make sure you have ones that are truly sold on your plan. There are times where a business will take longer to be profitable than predicted but will in fact become profitable if you give it time. You need to make sure that you they truly believe otherwise they may pull out before they even give the business a chance to succeed.

3. Continuing investment in unprofitable advertising

There are several forms of advertising that do in fact take a good initial investment to start seeing a return. However, you need to be careful with this and take your advertising slow in the beginning to truly see what is working and whether or not you should continue to advertise there. The mistake that most businesses make is trying to grow to fast and advertise everywhere. This is setting up your marketing campaign for failure. How will you know which advertising campaigns work and which do not work? You could be spending thousands of dollars on advertising that doesn’t work when you could have invested it all in the advertising that works.

Forum Marketing

Monday, January 12th, 2009

No matter which niche you’re in there is most likely a forum that is in your niche or closely related to your niche. When you find a forum you want to market in you must establish yourself as a user before trying to market. Respond to some others posts and start some new threads that aren’t marketing your website. This is crucial, to establishing yourself as a knowledgeable person and not a spammer. Once you have established yourself continue to provide benefit and answers to others but add in your website as a signature link to your posts. This will show up after every post you make and will bring you traffic from the forum and help build your search engine links. A forum can generate some of your best traffic besides search engines because it’s extremely targeted traffic.

Website Meta Information

Friday, December 26th, 2008

A website’s title, meta description and meta keywords are some of the most important things when it comes to what keywords your website will rank for. You must make sure that every page on your website has a title, meta description and meta keywords that relate to what the pages content is about. For instance, if your website is about shoes you need to make sure that the homepages title, meta description and meta keywords all have the word shoes in them somewhere. Then if you have a sub page about Nike shoes you need to make sure you have Nike shoes in each one of them. Your title is what will come up in the search engine to click on, your description will be right below that telling possible visitors what that page has to offer and your keywords will only be seen by the search engines but are still important. Obviously this is not the only thing that you need to do in order to optimize your website for specific keywords but it is one of the bricks you need to build the wall.

Customer Service Is Essential

Friday, December 12th, 2008

1. Manners and Expertise – Yes it is important that your customer service representatives are polite and have a positive attitude but that is worth nothing if they have no expertise in your product or service. You must make sure that your representatives are properly trained and can answer inquiries in a timely and effective manner.

2. Don’t Make Promises You Can’t Keep – If you promise a customer something you better make sure you deliver it. If you don’t deliver they will most likely want a refund and never return to make a purchase again. Not to mention they might go out and tell all their friends how poor your customer service is.

3. Let Your Customers Know You Value Them – Always thank your customers for their orders. Give them a follow up phone call or email after their purchase thanking them for their order. Possibly give them something free that they weren’t expecting showing that your company takes an extra step and cares about their satisfaction.

4. Reward Repeat Customers – If you don’t reward repeat customers you are totally missing the boat. Repeat customers can be the biggest part of your business if you do it right. Make sure you are rewarding them for making repeat purchases. Do things like offer them free shipping for being a regular customer. Give them something extra in their shipments that they weren’t expecting. For instance give them a product related to the one they ordered as a gift.

All in all, customer service is one of the most important aspects of any business but especially an Internet business. These examples of customer service are just a few of the things you should do but they will give you a great start to the right path.

Advantages of Outsourcing

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

Outsourcing has several advantages for many reasons. You do not have to have a full time employee for that specific line of work unless it’s required. This can really reduce your labor costs and in return create an efficient, more profitable business. You will also not have to match your employee’s taxes as a company since outsourcing is an expense. This will save your company a tremendous amount of money if it’s done correctly. It can also help with your efficiency while you are working on the work that needs to be done by yourself or an in house employee, your outsourced work is also being done. One of the best advantages is that you can hire some of the world’s best experts since they do not have to be a full time employee for you. You are able to have high class work done and only pay them for that work instead of giving them a salary or hourly wage. This is just a short list of the advantages outsourcing offers but even these advantages are enough for you to make the decision to outsource.
